The Cedar Mountain Formation is a sedimentary rock formation that contains non-marine sediment made up of five members. The Cedar Mountain Formation was formed about 127-98 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous.
Where/How
The Cedar Mountain Formation is located in eastern Utah, located between the Morrison Formation and Naturita Formation . The formation was named after Cedar Mountain located in northern Emery County, Utah. It was first found by William Lee Stokes who studied the the formations in Cedar Mountain.
