Emergency Drills
At Wolfsville we are committed to this goal in ensuring every student will learn in a safe, caring and engaging environment. Therefore, we plan ahead in order to be prepared to respond immediately during unexpected emergency situations.
Throughout the course of this school year your child will engage in a variety of emergency preparation drills. These include monthly fire, severe weather, evacuation, partial lockdown, reverse evacuation, bus evacuation and shelter in place drills. One change to our drill procedure will be an emergency evacuation from the building in the event of an active intruder (as opposed to a lockdown drill where students remained inside the building). This change was made with guidance from the supervisor of FCPS security management. Upon careful deliberation and examination of our facility the conclusion was made that staying stationary inside of the school building is not the safest place for students in the event an unwanted person is in our school. Instead students will be guided to exit the school quickly through the classroom doors leading to the exterior. We will practice this drill in early October with the students body so they will be prepared and will have a point of reference for a safe meeting place should they ever have to exit our facility quickly.
Thank you for your support and ongoing commitment in our efforts to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for your child(ren)!
2 Hour Early Dismissal Schedule
On October 6th we will have our first 2-hour early dismissal for the school year. On these days school dismissal begins promptly at 1:30 PM. We will also have a slightly altered lunch schedule. Students in grades K-2 will eat from 11:30-12:00 and students in grades 3-5 will eat lunch during the times of 12:05-12:35.
Student Weapons Possession Policy
Please note FCPS Regulation 200-29 related to student weapon possession and school security. "It is unlawful for students to possess or use any weapon on school property. Students who have or use a weapon on school property will be suspended from school, and the police will be notified of the incident. A weapon is any object designed to harm another physically or an object which is used in a way that can physically harm another. This school is committed to providing each of you with a safe environment, and we will do all we can to carry out that responsibility including, if necessary, conducting searches of student lockers."

Free and reduced lunch application forms were sent home with students on the first day of school and are still being accepted. These forms need to filled out each year for acceptance.
