The Rustler Round Up
What's going on at Edna Junior High-September 1, 2022
Off to a great start!
Thanks to everyone for a great start to the school year. We've made some changes to improve safety and everyone has been doing their part to keep our school secure. We have a lot of fun things planned for the fall semester.
Reminders about ATTENDANCE
We want our students here! But we also know there are times they are sick, have emergencies, or have appointments. As a reminder, at the junior high level, attendance is taken in EACH class period. You must be here for ALL eight class periods. Any time you miss, you must bring a note from the doctor/parent, even if it was only for part of the day or class period. Please call the office if your child will be absent. You may receive an automated call or message if a student is marked absent for any class period. Our phone number is 361-782-2351. Truancy letters will be sent home after 3 unexcused absences from a class/classes.
Spirit Days!
Please note the days and time of our pep rallies this season.
HOCO Week
We will share daily themes with EHS
Dance!

Can't hide that Rustler pride!

A Note from the Nurse
Hello! My name is Lindy Sappinton; I am the registered nurse for Edna Junior High and the Jackson County Special Services Co-op. I have previously worked as an emergency room nurse and as a school nurse in Victoria ISD. I am happy to be working in Edna and close to home. In the coming months, I will be conducting screenings with all 7th graders for vision and hearing. In addition, I will be conducting scoliosis screenings with 7th-grade girls and 8th-grade boys. If you have any health concerns regarding your child, you may reach me at 782-2351, ext. 3006
