Girl's Basketball Holiday Recap
Friday, 12/17 @ Jasper
Cullman (49) – Jasper (38)
The Lady Bearcats picked up the win on the road. Jaden Winfrey had a game-high 25 points.
Monday, 12/20 vs. Chelsea @ Spain Park Lady Jag Classic
Cullman (43) – Chelsea (56)
The Lady Bearcats were defeated by Chelsea. Ally Sharpe (14) and Jaden Winfrey (10) led in scoring.
Tuesday, 12/21 vs. Minor @ Spain Park Lady Jag Classic
Cullman (52) – Minor (53)
The Lady Bearcats lost a heart-breaker to a very physical Minor team. Ally Sharpe (19) and Jaden Winfrey (19) led in scoring.
Wednesday, 12/22 vs. Wenonah @ Spain Park Lady Jag Classic
Cullman (78) – Wenonah (39)
The Lady Bearcats bounced back from 2 losses with a dominating win against Wenonah. All 9 girls scored, led by Ava Mcswain (15), Ella Collum (14), Regan Quattlebaum (13), Ally Sharpe (12) and Jaden Winfrey (12).
Tuesday, 12/28 vs. Madison County @ Randolph Holiday Tournament
Cullman (54) – Madison County (44)
The Lady Bearcats stormed out of the gates to take a 17 to 6 lead after 1 quarter, but struggled to put Madison County away the rest of the game. The girls played hard and came up with a victory in the first round of the tournament. Jaden Winfrey (11), Ava McSwain (10), Ally Sharpe (9), Ella Collum (9), Maci Brown (6), Regan Quattlebaum (6), and Annalee Allen (3) all scored for Cullman.
Wednesday, 12/29 vs. East Limestone @ Randolph Holiday Tournament
Cullman (58) – East Limestone (38)
The Lady Bearcats again got off to a hot start, leading 19 to 6 after 1 quarter and 40 to 18 at the half. Jaden Winfrey (14), Maci Brown (12), Ally Sharpe (11), Regan Quattlebaum (8), and Ava McSwain (8) all scored for Cullman.
Thursday, 12/30 vs. Sylvania @ Randolph Holiday Tournament
Cullman (60) – Sylvania (53)
The Championship game of the Randolph Holiday Tournament proved exciting for all! While the Lady Bearcats took a 30 to 20 lead into the locker room at half time, they would face stiff opposition in the final half. Ultimately, they pulled away in the 4th quarter by making 11 of 14 free throws to ice the game and bring home the SHIP! Jaden Winfrey and Ava Mcswain both had 16 points in the championship game, followed by Regan Quattlebaum and Ally Sharpe with 9 each. Ava was named to the All-Tournament team and Jaden was named the Tournament MVP.
The Lady Bearcat Ballers are now 15 & 4 on the year. Please come out and support these young ladies this week on Tuesday (home vs. Muscle Shoals), Thursday (home vs. Jasper), and Friday (@ Hartselle). Go Bearcats!
