Elephants are starting to look less attractive to their biggest predator the poacher by not being able to grow very long tusks due to evolution or by just not having tusks to grow.
Elephants Return The Favor
If poaching and hunting keep going the way they’re going and the demand for ivory keeps increasing we'll be paying the price when there aren't elephants with tusks.
Alternative Materials Needed
There are a lot of substitutes such as walruses, rhinoceros, and narwhals,but elephant ivory has always been considered the most valuable because of its special texture, softness, and it doesn't have a tough exterior like the rest.
