First 10

First 10 Follow Up

Now that students have been informed and practiced the First 10 expectation, we are going to be checking how this process is working and seeing if our students are getting to class on time. Throughout next week in order to support students, we will be randomly selected periods to monitor our halls. If students are found to be in the hallways due to being locked out and without a valid pass, we will be collecting their names, re-teaching our expectations, notifying families, and working with students to determine how to support them in getting to class on time.

If you have any questions, please contact our office or administration.

Spring Fundraising Drive

There are no PSO activities for the rest of March, but please use this time to fluff up your comfiest reading chair and shake the loose coins out of the cushions: our Spring Fundraising Drive is coming up from April 10-21. During the short week (April 10-13) kids can collect coins from home in the Coins for Kids Drive. This supports the Foundation for Tigard Tualatin Schools, which provides financial support right back to Hazelbrook.

The following week, April 17-21 is our Read & Win Fundraiser for HMS. The Read & Win allows kids to support Hazelbrook through sponsorships, plus they can practice their reading to prepare for those long summer days curled up with a book in the shade (We can dream, right?).

Teen Room

Tualatin Public Library welcomes YOU to the Teen Room! Located in the back of the library, the Teen Room is a space reserved for students in grades 6-12. (The only adults allowed to stay in the room are library staff.) Why hang out in the Teen Room? Because it has a lot of stuff for you! Art supplies. Board games. Maker stuff. Computers. Space. And on weekends and school’s out days—video gaming! The Teen Room has an Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Wii U for your use. Lots of games are available for you to play. In addition to all of this awesomeness, every Friday night is Teen Movie Night. After the library closes on Fridays, the Teen Room stays open for you to hang out and watch a movie (6-8:30pm). Questions? Email Aimee at ameuchel@tualatin.gov.
