Nuclear engineering.
Do you want to study nuclear power? Ben Breun Hour 3
Basic information about Nuclear engineering
Nuclear engineers must know about the properties of radioactive materials such as radium and uranium.
Nuclear engineers study how radioactive atoms act.
Nuclear engineers develop theories and test them to discover new information about radioactivity.
Nuclear engineers must always keep exposure to safety in mind when making their designs, because radioactive materials can be harmful.
Nuclear engineers must be familiar with nuclear safety regulations, and are responsible for maintaining safety standards at nuclear plants.
Pros and cons of Nuclear engineering.
Salaries range from $68,940 to $149,940 per year.
Cons
Nuclear engineers must have a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering.
What do you need to do to succeed in this career?
You need a bachelors degree.
What colleges can you attend to earn a degree for this career?
Each student is assigned a faculty advisor. You should feel free to consult him/her during their office hours regarding any matter of concern to you. Don’t wait until a minor problem becomes a major problem. Note that all students must see their advisor and obtain approval of their schedule prior to registration. The Nuclear Engineering Department blocks the registration of all undergraduates until an approved schedule is received. You are expected to be familiar with the rules, regulations, and academic policies of Texas A&M. These are given in the "Texas A&M University Undergraduate Catalog," available from the MSC Bookstore and in "Texas A&M University Regulations," available at the Student Activities Office, Room 163 Koldus Building.
