AMS Harmony Show Choir Earns Mulitple Awards

The Argyle Middle School Harmony Show Choir competed in the 2022 Lone Star Invitational last week and took third place and earned the People's Choice Award, which goes to the crowd favorite!

This is the largest and most competitive show choir competition in the southwest, and the Argyle MIddle School group was up against many much larger and more seasoned ensembles. The Show Choir also earned a fourth-place finish at the North Texas Show Choir Invitational in February.

Two Argyle High Students Honored by Rotary Club!

Congratulations to Argyle High School's Morgan Lemish who was recently honored by the Rotary Club. She was the winner of the 4--Way Test along with fellow classmate Faith Edge who took second place.

The 4-Way Test is one of the hallmarks of Rotary. It's a checklist for ethical behavior and goes with every decision made, every day to help build goodwill and better friendships and to do your very best in all situations.

Construction Photos: Check out South Elementary!

Argyle South Elementary is taking shape. Argyle ISD's newest elementary opens in August 2022 in Canyon Falls. The campus will serve students in grades pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. Click here to visit the campus website, which will continue to be updated as more information is available.

South Elementary was part of the 2017 voter-approved bond, which also included West Elementary. Dr. Dawn Jordan was named Principal of the campus earlier this school year. She is currently the principal of Argyle Intermediate School, which will close following the school year to be repurposed.

Don't Miss Argyle ISD's Cultural Night - March 29

Argyle ISD families be sure to mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 29. The district will host Cultural Night for the community from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Argyle Middle School.

Each school in the district will have a booth at the event. The event will include food, fashion, arts and crafts and music. More information will be available as the event draws nearer.

Argyle ISD Cafeterias Celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday

The Argyle ISD elementary campus cafeterias had some fun this week celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2. The day is regarded as a nationwide reading celebration and the cafeterias brought life to the books by serving green eggs and ham!

Argyle ISD Bond Election May 7

Argyle ISD will hold a Bond Election on May 7. Early voting begins April 25 and the election includes three propositions - A, B and C. The voter registration deadline is Thursday, April 7. To see if you are registered or to get registered to vote, visit VoteTexas.gov.

The Argyle ISD bond proposal was developed by the community-led Bond & Growth Planning Committee which held meetings over four months examining the district and growth. Student enrollment in the district is expected to double in the next six years.

Argyle ISD will hold a School Board Trustee election on May 7. The deadline for candidates to file for a place on the ballot was last Friday. Two places will be on the ballot (Place 6 and Place 7) The following are the candidates for the two School Board seats that are up for election:

STATE TOURNAMENT TIME! Lady Eagles Face Hardin-Jefferson

The Argyle Lady Eagles' basketball team is headed back to the UIL state tournament!

The No. 1 state-ranked Lady Eagles were crowned the Class 4A Region I champions after defeating District 7-4A rival Decatur 52-40 in the tournament title game. Senior guard Caroline Lyles was named the region tournament MVP and sophomore forward Samantha Bacon was chosen all-tournament.

The Lady Eagles earned a come-from-behind 34-32 victory in the regional semifinal against defending state champion Canyon.

Argyle (37-0) will face Hardin-Jefferson (33-4) in the 4A state semifinals at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The championship will be held Saturday at 7 p.m.

Brownsboro (38-2) and Fredericksburg (36-3) will meet in the other semifinal at 4 p.m. Friday.

Argyle is making its 10 state tournament appearance and seeking its seventh state championship.

Lady Eagle Basketball Sendoff 2022

Eagles Headed to Region I Tournament!

The defending state champion Argyle Eagles are headed to the Class 4A Region I tournament in Lubbock. Argyle held on for a 55-51 victory on Tuesday against Fort Worth Dunbar in the region quarterfinal.

Argyle advances to face Canyon at 6 p.m. Friday in one of the two regional semifinals. Hereford and Wichita Falls Hirschi will play at 7:30 p.m. in the other semifinal. The region final will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday. Follow the game live on sportgram.net.

Argyle Powerlifter Earns State Berth!

Argyle Eagle powerlifter Cassidy Owen, a sophomore, finished second at the regional tournament and is headed to the state meet. Argyle qualified four powerlifters for the regional tournament.

Cassidy will compete in the state meet on March 18 in Corpus Christi.
