Holy Cross Thunderbolt Newsletter
January 12, 2022

Holy Cross Catholic School guides each student in developing academic, emotional and physical excellence while spreading the Gospel message as Jesus did, since 1868.

The frustration on our children's faces as they realize just how much homework they have saved for the night before it is all due tugs at our hearts. It’s easy to fly through concepts we understand, but when the correct answers elude us, it can be so hard!
Far beyond homework assignments, we have all held back tears in moments where we can’t understand what is happening to us. Wisdom is not an elective course.
Understanding requires pause. Through prayer, God’s word, and the people He has faithfully placed around us to speak to us, we can walk in wisdom.
Lord,
You hold the key to understanding. So many days we travel through our minutes and moments without understanding. You know the fabric of our hearts like the back of Your hand. You have prepared the way for all of us and made us with purpose. The love You have for us leads us to wisdom and understanding. You have what we need to walk through our lives in a way that brings glory and honor to Your name.
Let us come to You in our times of need as we seek wisdom and clarity.
Amen

Tax Deduction For Tuition Expense
Wisconsin Tax Deduction for Tuition Expense
Tax legislation signed into law gives Wisconsin taxpayers the opportunity to deduct private school tuition expenses from their taxable income. A subtraction from income is allowed for tuition expenses that are paid for any of the GRACE schools. Parents/guardians are eligible for a maximum deduction of $4,000 per child in grades K-8 and $10,000 per child in grades 9-12. Students transitioning from eighth to ninth grade are eligible for both deductions. Per state guidance, any amount spent on tuition and book fees are eligible for the deduction. Book fees include digital books, such as laptops or tablet fees issued by the school.
Tuition tax credit information is available to GRACE families online via GRACE’s enrollment management system, TADS. The TADS Household Paid Tuition Tax Report will provide a breakdown of payments made for the specified household’s tuition account during the tax year. When gathering information for tax preparation, GRACE families are to access their TADS account | select Billing | Billing Account Number | Reports | Household Paid Tuition Tax Report | enter the tax year (i.e. 2021) and submit. If you have questions or require assistance, please call TADS Family Support at (800) 477-8237.
