Introduction

Heat can be transferred from one place to another by three methods: conduction in solids, convection of liquids or gases, and radiation through technically anything. The method used to transfer heat is usually the one that is the most efficient. If there is a temperature difference in a system, heat will always move from higher to lower temperatures.

Conduction, Convection, Radiation

Game Time! :D

  • First students need to get into groups of people so that there are 5 groups.
  • Next we will come around and assign each group a type of way heat can travel (convection, conduction or radiation).
  • Then a poster will be given to each group. On the poster examples that relate to the types of ways heat can travel must be written down.
  • Now remember that the group with the most decorative and creative poster wins (the examples must be checked by us also).

THE WINNER WILL RECEIVE CANDY PER PERSON WITHIN THE TEAM (however if one individual did not put ANY effort into the poster they will NOT receive candy).
