The 16th Street Church Bombing

4 Klu Klux Klan members set this church to be the site to place their 122 sticks of dynamite. They put them under a staircase near the basement of the church. When the children walked down to the basement to prepare for the sermon " The Love That Forgives". 4 children died in the bombing, Anne Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson and Denise McNair. 22 other children got injured.
After the Bombing
The men that did the bombing didn't get charged with an act of terrorism because they were white men. They only got charged with possession of dynamite without a permit. There is a monument for the children that died that day. Later in1973 the case got brought back to court and finally in 2000 one of the men got killed and the others got sentenced to jail.
