The Friday Update
Weekly News and Updates for the Fine Arts Faculty of PCSD
Maraca Celebration for a WEEK OFF!
Happy Friday and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I am so thankful for each one of you and the work you do everyday. I know we all get swamped and this season is the busiest of all but in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, I never want to forget to just take the time to say thank you. You make a difference. You really are the change makers for students. I cannot thank you enough.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Saying Goodbye to a Dear Friend
I can't really believe I am typing this although I have known it was coming for a long time.
Our very own Daniel Gaddis is retiring!! Retiring? Isn't he young, you might ask?? Well, yes he is. BUT while he has loved teaching music and has done a phenomenal job over these past 10 years at McGarity, he also has had a growing passion for city planning and development. He went back to school, obtained a Master's in Environment Policy and Management, and started planning his career shift.
Daniel has had internships in the summers in this field, and through those internships and other activities he has been offered a job. We will likely be saying Congressman Gaddis at some point in the future and I couldn't be more proud of him.
He will be heading straight into his new role as an Urban Planner for the city of Dunwoody following the Thanksgiving holiday. I can speak for myself and say I am sad but so stinkin' proud of him. Daniel is a visionary and a true leader. He has made a massive difference in so many children's lives through music and I cannot wait to see what his future holds for him as he will undoubtedly make a big difference in the lives of citizens through the political arena. We need more people like Daniel Gaddis in politics.
So, Daniel - much love from us to you. Go do BIG things!
