Principal's Message
Dear Fammatre Families,
I am truly looking forward to seeing students come to campus today and tomorrow for school pictures. We’ve included, below, a reminder about the important safety protocols and the process we need all families to follow to ensure the safety of all.
We had a very productive professional learning day last Friday! Teachers and all site staff attended training around safely reopening Fammatre. A good portion of the day was dedicated to preparing classrooms and learning spaces in anticipation of welcoming students back to campus. I will be hosting another Principal Coffee on Tuesday, November 17th from 4:00-5:00pm. At that time I will share more details around Fammatre’s reopening plans, what to expect when campus reopens, and answer questions. Here is the link: https://forms.gle/5TsTXVWHapa5CvTS7 to RSVP and submit questions for the Principal Coffee.
As a reminder, the revised Hybrid Learning schedule will be presented at tonight’s Cambrian School District Board Meeting. Additionally, each principal (including me) will present at tonight’s meeting. We are each sharing a brief overview of Distance Learning highlights, challenges, and next steps. Results and feedback we received from families, students and staff in the October Distance Learning surveys have been incorporated into my presentation.
Cambrian Students Need Your Support
Due to chronic state underfunding, declining enrollment, and the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cambrian School District is facing a budget deficit. Since early 2019, the District has been assessing potential district-owned land development opportunities to create additional on-going, annual revenue to sustain our award-winning programs.
You can help PROTECT STUDENT PROGRAMS by supporting the "Support Our Students" land development initiative. Thirty seconds of your time can help generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in ongoing, annual revenue without increasing taxes in the community. Click here to sign a letter of support and to learn more.
Have a question? Please contact former Cambrian School District parent Eve Walton at SOSCambrianSchoolDistrict@gmail.com.
Warmly,
Jackie Smith

YOU CAN HELP SUPPORT CAMBRIAN STUDENTS AND ENDORSE CAMBRIAN LAND DEVELOPMENT
The Cambrian School District has been in the process of assessing potential land redevelopment of District-owned properties as a new ongoing revenue stream to support our students, programs, and District. After evaluating multiple options, we identified the Metzler Elementary School at Cambrianna Drive as a promising opportunity to convert a portion of this site into an ongoing revenue stream. The proposed development matches and complements the character of the neighborhood.
The proposed housing development project for the Cambrian School district will generate ongoing revenue that will support CSD’s outstanding programs.
Please join Cambrian parents, teachers, and neighbors and click here to sign a letter of support asking the City of San Jose to approve the District’s general plan amendment application.
