Principal's Message
Our school community has been quite busy over the last several weeks. We have successfully coordinated both our Spelling and Geography Bees and were incredibly proud at the level of competition, desire, and will to succeed shown by each student participant. We would like to recognize our Spelling Bee Champion, Priya Soundar, and runner-up, Anna Sun, as well as our Geography Bee Champion, Brady Jezak, and runner-up, Ryan Kaplan. The competition involved many student participants and we could not be more proud of each individual who gave it their all. Thank you to Mrs. Rattigan, Mrs. Freeman, Mr. Miloro, and Mrs. deLara for helping to facilitate these competitions!
On Tuesday evening, our Grade 5 Band/Violinists took the stage at WHS and showed incredible poise, composure and talent under the bright lights. Not to be outdone, on Wednesday, our Grade 4 Band/Violinists took the stage and performed their hearts out. We could not be happier with their commitment and love for music---especially when waking up on those cold mornings for band practice before school. Supporting the arts is incredibly important to us as it is amongst the Windham community. We appreciate your support! A special thank you is in order to Ms. Amy Buonpane for successfully conducting her first of many top-notch and methodical band performances.
You will notice below that we have included the times for our Valentine's Day parties here at WCS. February is almost upon us and we have so much to look forward to in the next couple of weeks. For students who choose to hand out valentines (and in the spirit of inclusion), we will reinforce a gentle reminder of sharing valentines with all classmates. This will also support our message of inclusion when we read the story The Invisible Boy at our next all school assembly.
Finally, this may go without saying, but next Friday is a Patriots Day!
Sincerely,
Rory O'Connor

After stiff competition, we have crowned our Geography Bee champion! Congratulations to Brady and runner-up Ryan for their preparation, effort and grit. A special thank you goes to Mr. Miloro and Mrs. deLara for their outstanding leadership in coordinating this special event. Most importantly, how proud were we too see the family support run deep with Brady being supported by his sister, Ellie, and Ryan by his brother Nate?!
