Dear Parents / Carers,
What a productive week we have had in school this week, it has been a delight to listen to the children learning and see their great work. We will be holding an open classroom session after school next Friday so that you too can come and see the work the children have been doing and visit their new classroom.
You will have received a letter today from the Chair of Governors informing you that I will be leaving the school at Christmas to take up a new headship role in Wetherby. This was a very difficult decision for me however I feel that I am leaving the school in a good position following our successful Ofsted inspection and with a strong staff team in place to take the school forward. The Trust are working on transition arrangements alongside the Chair of Governors and the Diocese and I will of course update you once I have any information to share. In the meantime, I will still be here until the end of December should you need any assistance.
Can I please remind you again of the Church Harvest Festival service on Sunday 24th September at St. Mary's at 10:30am and if you would like to be involved, to contact Reverend Paulie.
Have a lovely weekend,
Karen Williams

Message from Head Pupils
Last week children in KS2 voted for their new team captains. All the speeches were brilliant and we know they will all be great role models for the school. On Tuesday, a selection of children from KS2 will be representing Kirk Fenton at cross country. The event will take place at Riverside School and all the children selected are very excited to go. Have a lovely weekend!

School Lunch Ordering
You may have received a call/text from the school office this week regarding school dinners. The new Trust pre-ordering system means that we don't know if your child has a packed lunch or if you have just forgotten to pre-order a dinner, so please would all parents use the system to confirm whether your child requires a school dinner or whether they have a packed lunch.
Thank you

Staff Thank You's
If anyone would like to say thank you to or has any positive comments for a member of staff then please complete and submit the form below.
YES Day
We’re pleased to share our first event of the year, and it’s a fun one for the kids. We have a ‘YES Day’ agreed for Friday 6th October. Normally, it's a straight NO to nail varnish, hair colour or wearing whatever you want but on a YES Day, it's a YES.
Just bring in .50p for each of the agreed YES items your child wants to do. See the attached poster for more information.
AGM
We are holding our AGM on Tuesday 17th October, after school in the school hall. It would be great to have some more committee members join, or people along to find out more about what we do. In order for the for AGM to be held, we do need to have at least 6 non-existing committee members come to the meeting, so we’d love to see some of you there.
If you are wondering what Friends of Kirk Fenton do, how we spend our money and what are plans are for the year take a look at the attached poster!
