The Main Things
Main Thing 1: Vaccine Mandate
The vaccine rules were released last week. What does this mean for us? By October, 18th everyone needs to be vaccinated or have a medical or religious exception. This rule does not apply to our folks who do not work with kids at all, such as groundskeepers. It would apply to custodians, because they are in buildings with students. We are working on next steps for the vaccination mandate, and we need your help! Please take this anonymous two-question survey by Thursday, September 2. The survey can also be accessed at this link: https://forms.gle/uDCb5rWMJWSfrUsBA. We are requiring anyone who does not provide proof of vaccination to do weekly COVID-19 testing. More details on that to come.
Main Thing 2: Quarantining
One detail we do know, is that quarantining is still a challenge. The goods news is, if you are vaccinated and you come into close contact with a case you don't have to quarantine. If you are unvaccinated, you need to quarantine between 7 and 14 days. Details of which can be worked out with your principal or your supervisor. Click here for our MSD Safety Standards.
Main Thing 3: The First Week of School
We got through our first week of school together! We didn't just get through the week, we actually had a fantastic first week of school. None of that can happen without the work that you do everyday. Thank you for your dedication to our students and we look forward to the great things to come.
