The Shining STAR

It's 2014!

I hope you all had a wonderful break! I enjoyed meeting with you all at parent-teacher conferences. Thank you for all the good conversations that were had. I truly appreciate and admire the love you have for your children and I am feel so blessed to be part of their lives.

It is a new year and we have switched the classroom around a bit to give the room a new feel. We are so happy to have the kids back in the classroom. Last week, the classroom felt so cold and quiet without the joy your children.

Fun in December

In December, we had a lot of fun activities. The dress up area had some elf and santa costumes, the kids were able to practice their wrapping skills at the gift wrapping center, and we enjoyed making towels for all of the parents. Here are a few pictures to show how excited the kids were to do these activities!

Fun in January

We have had a great start back to school! We are so excited to see our friends again! Last week we did a lesson with the book "There was a cold lady who swallowed some snow". After reading this book, the kids created their own snowman to look like the snowman at the end of the story. They turned out to be so cute, we hung them up around the room! Later in the week we read a book called "Teddy's Snowy Day". We talked about what you could do on a snowy day and then Ms. Mendell and Ms. Trish told them about what we do on snowy days. We created our own snowflakes out of pasta. They are all very creative and unique!
