BEAU CHENE HIGH SCHOOL

Jakel Brooks was nominated for the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientist Award of Excellence for outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine. She will be a delegate representing Beau Chene High School and the State of Louisiana at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders to be held June 23-25, 2019 in Boston, Massachusetts.

In the Spirit of Giving, Ms. Stelly's class helps collect can goods for the needy families in our community. With the generosity of our Glendale family, we collected over 1,500 can goods. Each year, we work in conjunction with the Eunice Rotary club to help the citizens of Eunice.

GRAND COTEAU ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

On November 29, 2018, the second-grade students (and parents) at Grand Coteau Elementary took a field trip to the Children's Museum of Acadiana in Lafayette. Students were able to engage in hands-on activities through stations that included a veterinary clinic, grocery store, bubble station, restaurant, news station, ambulance, dinosaurs, and a dentist. Students were also able to make an art activity with recycled items.

HIGHLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Students at Highland Elementary having November and December birthdays received their birthday books last week! Great Highland Readers make Great Highland Leaders!

Mrs. Bacon’s Third Grade students disguised an elf on the shelf. Destiny and Kurt disguised their elves as a Bobcat cheerleader and football player! What a perfect week to show off Bobcat Spirit!!!!! GO BOBCATS!!!!

This week in Mrs. Myers' Cultural Arts class, Highland is studying Christmas in Vietnam. Vietnamese Christians enjoy nativity scenes. Each class made one for their classroom. Pictured is Mrs. Monique Smith's Kindergarten class.

Highland's 4-H club collected canned goods for the needy from all classes and presented them to Ryan Fuselier with the Eunice Rotary Club. Ms. Fontenot's class was the winning class of a pizza party because they collected the most cans.

Banners were presented to EHS from Highland Jr. Beta, 4-H, and Faculty and Staff. Congratulations to the Eunice High School Bobcats!
Highland had a visitor on the morning of December 6th that just does not like Christmas! The Grinch made an appearance to advertise the play that will be taking place at the New Hope Fellowship church... Each child received a free ticket to attend this event...

KROTZ SPRINGS ELEMENTARY

7th and 8th grade KSE Beta members assisted in serving and performing for the patients of Quality Care Providers at their annual Christmas party.

"DONUTS WITH DADS " was held on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Lawtell Head Start Center by the

St. Landry Parish Lawtell Head Start Parent Committee and Center Support Staff with the help of School board member, Anthony Standberry, in efforts to promote family engagement and social-emotional development, which is one of the pillars of the Head Start Program. The St. Landry Parish Early Childhood Education staff and Child & Family Services at Lawtell Head Start will exemplify family partnerships and opportunities for child development planned activities. Thanks to the Lawtell Parent Committee: JoHellen Duckless, Parent President; Rebecca O'Riley; Kim Woodley; and all who helped make our 1st "Donuts With Dad" possible.
