Everyone Matters Day
Thanks to those of you who put everything together for this event. Joirdan sent out an email before break with the following information: https://www.smore.com/s7cxw
Hopefully we can make this a great day celebrating each other!
We will be participating in Everyone Matters Day again this year. Everyone Matters Day is on April 12, 2016 and I hope that we can continue this and make a tradition out of it. The city of Plano officials are planning to come out again in the morning this year. We will share further details with the staff once we have them.
Here is a link the Everyone Matters Day website.
Thanks in advance for participating!
Baron Elementary Student Project Video and No Labels Video
One other feel good video to get us going for the week and even possibly open up some more ideas and discussion is one I tweeted out this last weekend. Great concept, but even more intriguing as to the idea of "what if we could lead by example and break down labels?"
2016-17 Student Assistants
There is an informational meeting for students tomorrow after school in the cafeteria.
Don't forget to include #RiceRavens in your tweets!
Please educate yourself on the upcoming Bond Election. You might want to post the information as well.
Linda will send out information on the next challenge!!!
Social Media and Technology Trends
Sara sent out information regarding a new tool she learned about at an EDCamp a few weeks ago.
Thank you Linda Fleming for being the latest to tackle Twitter to showcase what the students are doing in your classroom!
I am definitely encouraged by the enthusiasm and willingness of the staff to take the plunge and find new ways to make learning fun at Rice!
Professional Learning Hours
Thanks for all the great ideas for your professional learning that have come across my desk. We have numerous book studies going along as well as PLCs that have been planned. Great way to grow professionally!
Don't forget to begin documenting your professional development hours for the June 6, 2016 work day. Refer to the memo below for more information.
Great informational resources for you to apply in the classroom. This is updated weekly with Craig McKinney's latest and greatest ideas.
A great visual description of what we should be providing students in the classroom.
