Young Family Library News
From Gail and Sue
Reading Roundtable
Every summer many of us read a variety of great books. Come to a very informal gathering to share what books you've read in the past few months that others may enjoy!
Where: The Young Family Library Classroom (Room 286)
When: Friday, September 11 at lunch!
Why: To recommend books with one another AND to continue to promote a culture of reading among students. It is SO important for students to see faculty talking about books informally.
Bring: Your list of books and your lunch. We'll supply dessert!
Currently Reading Signs!
If you don't have a currently reading sign and you'd like one, let us know and we'll get it to you. Be sure to keep your sign updated please!
Books for Lunch Author Alexandra Fuller
Books for Lunch is a wonderful annual event with an author who visits Seven Hills. Feel free to swing by the library to check out one of Fuller's books!
How WE can help YOU!
We would love to help and support you any way we can. Here are just a few ways we can support you and your students:
-Create a reserve collection in the library or compile a class set of books about a topic for your classroom
-Create a Libguide to support a unit you're working on. (ie. http://7hills.libguides.com/english10_upper).
-Have us talk to your students about how to use the databases
-Have us come to your class to do books talks. You'd be surprised how many connections can be made to books from the topics you're teaching!
Databases
You can search databases now! http://7hills.libguides.com/az.php. This will make researching easier for you and students. Search by subject, database type, or vendor.
A Few New Titles
Every month we get new books in. Please let us know if there's something you'd like us to buy for your personal or professional enjoyment and we will do our best to help you! Below are a few books you might want to check out.
