If you own a MAC you can use Quicktime, new screen recording, easy peasy. And there are a host of free and inexpensive options in the Mac App store. So look around a bit before you spend a ton of money.
For an iPad your can also use Screen Recording feature. Both FREE. Another FREE one for iPad that also has the added feature of a facecam is Record it! :: Screen Recorder
And of course if you need tons of features and have money to spend, there is always Screenflow 9. $129.00 but does have a free trial and it really is very robust.
And the Rolls Royce of them all seems to be Camtasia on their website $249, but I found it in the Mac App store for $99. Also has a Free trial and has been around for years and years, so truly tested and works extremely well with lots of cool features.
Beyond Packets: The Art of Online Teaching and Remote Learning in P-12
Last Tuesday afternopn, I had a zoom meeting with my department chair, he sent me text message me earlier in the day that said......"Fasten your seatbelt. Your life is about to change." He was not kidding! Here’s the deal, we know CONTINUOUS LEARNING / REMOTE TEACHING began for K-12 teachers in March 2020 and has mostly been by the seat of our pants. RIGHT?
But we want to give you the chance to get Beyond Packets and learn The Art of Online Teaching and Remote Learning in P-12.
When you create your digital online classroom, you are setting up your curriculum, and lets face it, you already know your curriculum, you just need to know how to present it in a different way, in an engaging way and digitally to your students (and parents).
It is a different way to teach and a different way to learn, no doubt. We have to move students (and parents) into this transformation. This, of course, means thinking outside the box.
We (Kansas State College of Education) are here to help. This summer we will be offering a BUNDLE of 3 online class workshops, Beyond Packets: The Art of Online Teaching and Remote Learning in P-12. It will be possible to earn 9 hours of graduate credit at a much lower tuition price. I don't have the amount yet, but will shortly, so stay tuned.
The 3 online classes will be continuous in June & July and you will finish with 9 hours of graduate credit. It is a bundle, so all 3 are taken for one price. The hours will be considered graduate and eligible for use toward pay scale advancement and/or re-licensure, subject to state and district regulations and negotiated agreements.
Even if we are back to school as usual by the fall, everything in these courses will be beneficial in your classroom. Teachers are always looking for strategies to engage their students and enhance their learning. You will be introduced to many tools that will do just that in this class bundle.
We are still in the planning stages but more information will be coming shortly, so stay tuned. I just wanted to start you to thinking about this possiblies.

Keeping Students Engaged in Digital Learning

Here is another amazing tip from Tony Vincent of learninginhand. As we all embrace this online teaching and make mistakes in our recording, do this......
I do a lot of clapping when I record videos and voiceovers and it's not becasue I am applauding myself. When I am interrupted, flounder, pause too long, mispronounce a word, or when my audio or video recording is flubbed up in some way, I immediately double-clap, redo the bad part , and comntinue. I don't start and stop the recording - I keep it a single clip in my editing software. #WeVideo, #iMovie, #GarageBand, #Audacity, #ScreenFlow etc.), I can see and hear where I need to cut the clip. This is where I do a jump cut. I split the clip, trim out the mistake, and splice together the parts I want to keep. #remoteteaching #classyvideos

Need a new Word Game
Word Shatter -Puzzle word game
Words are the foundation of English learning. You can use Word Shatter to memorize and practice spelling words. The strong cherry blossom style game theme makes you more immersive. When you are tired of the pink cherry skin, you can switch to other skins. That will give you more visual surprise.
How to play:
- Swipe the selected letters horizontally or vertically to form a word
- If the selected letters can be combined into words in order, it will disappear automatically.
- When the selected idiom disappears, the blocks above it will fall.
- Observe the text on those blocks to form words carefully, which can help you eliminate the blocks to pass the level faster.
- This is a word game that is actually more rare than it looks. More than 2000 levels for you. How far can you go?
OK here is something fun
