HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Today we finally got to hang our "WE ARE ALL HERE TODAY" sign on the door! Glad everyone is back, warm, safe, and healthy. :)
What do you wonder about the cold?
On Monday, when the kids were still on break, the teachers had some technology training. A new tool was discovered by this first grade teacher and we played with it. Since there were a lot of schools out we decided to talk about WHY, even though it wasn't snowing, that was happening. I asked students to write down questions about the cold weather. We put the questions in a Popplet. When we finished, students paired up with iPads to search Google, Weather.com, and YouTube for answers and evidence. The videos come out small if you add them to the Popplet, so there are just links for the videos and articles. Here is our finished result - not bad for a first try I would say!

Earlier today you should have received an email with your child's report card attached. It was sent to the same email that I have for sending out this newsletter. If you did not see one you may want to check your junk mail, but it was generated from my school email account. If you have any questions or need it resent, please contact me at mryberg@bsd124.org.
HOMEWORK
We are back on track with homework. While students got a break from homework over break and also this week, there is a yellow homework packet in backpacks today. PLEASE have students participate!! This is not just busy work, but an extension of what we are studying and learning in class. Thanks for your help!
