Activities & Athletics Update
In-person Activities have resumed!
We understand the Hylander Community wants to support our winter sports teams, however, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are limited in the number of spectators permitted to attend each event based on guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health, the Minnesota Department of Education, the Minnesota State High School League and the Tri-Metro Conference.
Team-specific spectator information will be sent to families. While the Hylander community cannot attend games regularly, we’d love for you to join us on the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Network. All regular season games/matches/meets in the Main High School Gym will be livestreamed for free at colheights.k12.mn.us/ActivitiesStream. Additionally, we hope to stream the events in the High School Pool.
Fans interested in streaming many (not all) of the Tri-Metro Conference away games/matches/meets can subscribe to the NFHS Network.
CA Basketball, Wrestling, and Boys Swim & Dive registration is still open.
Columbia Heights High School Triple ‘A’ Award Winners
Tenzin Dolkar and Adrian Hemmick
The Academics, Arts and Athletics Award (known as the Triple "A" Award) honors high school seniors throughout the state who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities. This award is sponsored by M Health Fairview and the Institute for Athletic Medicine.
Meal Delivery Continues through End of School Year
Thanks to funding from the Minnesota Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Columbia Heights Public Schools is pleased to be able to continue offering free meals to all students through the end of the school year.
Meal delivery continues to be available to students in Heights from Home and sign ups are still open. If and when students return to school buildings, all meals offered at school will also be free. Students who return to in-person learning will automatically be removed from meal delivery.
We want to see how you’re staying healthy at home! Right before winter break, we shared an opportunity for us all to be Healthy Hylanders to choose activities from five different categories (fitness, outdoors, nutrition, well-being and creativity) and mark them off as you complete them! https://bit.ly/2WHamsc
