Columbia Heights Public Schools
Jan. 14, 2021 Update
Quarter 3 Learning Model
Quarter 3 Runs Feb. 1-April 7
- Early Childhood | ECFE and PreK 3 on-site programming with Heights from Home option
Elementary | Rolling start hybrid instruction (four days per week on-site) starting with PreK 4 and Kindergarten

Regardless of the phase and scenario, families have the opportunity to choose Heights from Home only. Families have already committed to the learning model for quarter three.

This coordinated distribution of supplies will make it easy and convenient for families to pick up supplies for all their children.

9 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29
For questions, contact your child's school.
Activities & Athletics Update
In-person Activities have resumed!
We understand the Hylander Community wants to support our winter sports teams, however, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are limited in the number of spectators permitted to attend each event based on guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health, the Minnesota Department of Education, the Minnesota State High School League and the Tri-Metro Conference.
Team-specific spectator information will be sent to families. While the Hylander community cannot attend games regularly, we’d love for you to join us on the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Network. All regular season games/matches/meets in the Main High School Gym will be livestreamed for free at colheights.k12.mn.us/ActivitiesStream. Additionally, we hope to stream the events in the High School Pool.
Fans interested in streaming many (not all) of the Tri-Metro Conference away games/matches/meets can subscribe to the NFHS Network.

Meal Delivery Continues through End of School Year
Thanks to funding from the Minnesota Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Columbia Heights Public Schools is pleased to be able to continue offering free meals to all students through the end of the school year.
Meal delivery continues to be available to students in Heights from Home and sign ups are still open. If and when students return to school buildings, all meals offered at school will also be free. Students who return to in-person learning will automatically be removed from meal delivery.
Healthy Hylanders
We want to see how you’re staying healthy at home! Right before winter break, we shared an opportunity for us all to be Healthy Hylanders to choose activities from five different categories (fitness, outdoors, nutrition, well-being and creativity) and mark them off as you complete them! https://bit.ly/2WHamsc
Share your photos and videos with us by using hashtags #HealthyHylanders and #HealthyFromHome or send them to your teacher for a chance to see your face on District social media!
Columbia Heights High School Presents ‘Help Desk’ by Don Zolidis
The Columbia Heights High School Theater Department presents “Help Desk” by Don Zolidis. This one-act production will premiere one day only, virtually Saturday, Jan. 23.
When you call the help desk, you're looking for a solution - but your problems might just be beginning. Whether you're getting shamed about your inability to log in, giving your credit card information to a scammer, or having serious conversations with a clown, customer service calls spiral into absurdity for the customers and employees alike in this hilarious comedy.
Tickets are required to view the virtual production. Tickets cost $6 per family and can be purchased online at colheights.k12.mn.us/2021OneAct. The video link and digital program will be provided via email upon ticket purchase.
