The declaration of war happened on September 10, 1939 against Germany. 1.1 million Canadians served in the war against Germany, and tragedy stuck with more than 45,000 fatalities and 54,000 wounded.


When d-day arrived the third Canadian Infantry Division jumped at Juno. By the time the war ended Canada had the fourth world's largest air force, and the fifth largest navy. Various allied pilots has had training in Canada during the war and Canada served with militaries of various allied countries.
