Spotlight Image: Third graders at Sporting Hill Elementary School recently turned into X-ray Technicians after finishing up their unit on the human body. What an Honor to be a Finalist!
Please help us honor JULIE HUSSEY, who today was formally recognized at a statewide ceremony as one of only 12 Pa Teacher of the Year finalists. She is a 5th grade teacher at Shaull Elementary School and has been a teacher at CV since 2004.
While Julie didn’t capture the top title at today’s ceremony, we’re so very #CVproud of her amazing accomplishment. Her dedication to her students, their families, and her colleagues is unwavering.
As shared as part of today’s ceremony: “Julie creates an environment that uplifts students. Her students encourage each other as they participate in project-based learning that is ‘real world, authentic, and student led.’”
But Julie’s reach extends well beyond CV. She’s a published author for Scholastic and has been a guest presenter at prestigious programs including the National Council of Teachers of English annual conference, all while pursuing her National Board Certification.
Said Shaull’s Principal, Mr. Mike Azzalina, “Julie’s classrooms are one of a kind in all the ways that matter.”
Also deserving of recognition is Mountain View Middle School sixth-grader Ava Buhrman, who did an amazing job presenting Julie to the crowd of finalists, families, friends, and supporters. Great job, AVA!
