27/6/14
Welcome!
Welcome to the 'End of Term 2' HPS Tech News edition. This holiday edition will contain published ICT projects completed by our students this term (to inspire you for next term) and also a variety of sites and apps you can explore at your leisure over the holidays! Speaking of holidays, I hope you like this edition's background - one of my favourite pics from a gorgeous day at Blue Cow! (Keep on snowing!!!)
Kindergarten's Published ICT Projects
This term KF's HSIE unit was 'Places We Know'. They complete a number of projects on this topic. Please view KF's 'Special Places At Home (made using the 'Explain Everything' app) and shared via iMovie and Vimeo. (This was shared in last Tech News edition.) Below is a slideshow on their 'Special Places at School'.
KF's Special Places at School
KF also explored built environments in HSIE and in particular our school. They built models of our school buildings and this project shared via iMovie and Vimeo.
KF's School Models
KD and KF as part of their PD/Health unit 'Keeping Ourselves Safe', investigated how the key words of 'Stop, Look, Listen and Think' keep them safe when crossing the road. The 'WordFoto' app on the iPad was used to add their special safety word to their photos. This work was shared via Kizoa.
KD and KF also investigated how they keep themselves safe while crossing the road using the 'Puppet Pals' app on the iPad. Animations of kinder student 'puppets' show us how to cross the road safely. KD's can be viewed below (shared via iMovie and Vimeo) and KF's can be viewed here.

Stage Two's Published ICT Projects
After reading the poem 'Scary Creature' by Fiona Jackson, Stage 2 students drew their own creatures and then used the WordFoto app on the iPad to add descriptive words for their creatures. Take a look at 3M's wonderful work via the link below and shared via Kizoa. Please also visit the Stage 2, Term 2 page of our website to view 4M's and 4C's great efforts.
Stage Three's Published ICT Projects
5E, 6G and 6S enjoyed the poem 'Ballad of the Totems' by Oodgeroo Noonuccal (Kath Walker). These were combined into iMovies, and one group's from 5E can be viewed below. Please visit the Stage 3, Term 2 page to see the other groups fantastic work plus 5C's wonderful WordFoto creations.
