Prosper High School
Match 1 against Allen
The Varsity Boys kicked off the season against who is expected to be the toughest team in the district. While we fell short in the overall match, our guys held their own really well. The stand out bowler this match is J Gramly, who was the loan bowler to win his Singles match. Way to go J! Deshunn McKenzie who typically takes on the opponent’s #1 bowler threw a great 2 games series with a 220 and 200. A total that will win a lot of matches throughout the season. Chandler Gregory and Mitchell Herman recorded averages for their games of +13 and +26 pins over their average going into the match. Great bowling when it counts.
Once again, I was informed after the match of the favorable comments from our opponents parents and spectators. Prosper Bowling is on the map, and people continue to take notice!
The Prosper Lady Eagles inaugural bowling match of 2013 was a true nail biter and one to be extremely proud of. To start the season, the Lady Eagles put three second year bowlers, a first year bowler and a freshman on the lanes against an Allen team that has had a bowling program for the past 10 plus years. The match came down to the final Baker game with the entire match on the line. The Lady Eagle bowlers came up just 20 pins short and lost to the Allen Lady Eagles 8-7. The Prosper bowlers served notice to everyone that they will be a major factor in the Dallas North A bowling district this season. Bowling Varsity for the Prosper Lady Eagles was Michelle Vega, Sawyer Rasmussen, Bailey Works, Kathi Rienbenbauer and Kennedi Laughlin. The debut of the Prosper Coed JV team also had two Lady Eagle bowlers on the team (Vaarin Spein and Rumiko Onodera). Both ladies performed very well in their very first competitive bowling outings. Rumiko bowled well above her tryout average, and in spite of battling a nagging injury, Vaarin was still able to shoot her average.
