Focused Note Taking
This is a vital skill for high school and college success. Please ask to see your child's note taking samples and have them explain the process to you.
When your child needs to study for a test, it is a good idea to ask to see their notes and if they have interacted with them.
Meet the AVID Elective Teachers!
Mrs. Gliniecki is our AVID District Coordinator and teaches 7th grade AVID and AVID 101 for 6th grade. She lives in Junction City with her husband Larry and their cat Vladimir. Formerly a 6th grade Language Arts teacher, she is an AMAZING baker and gardener who also sews quilts. Her favorite thing to do is to care for and teach middle school students how to reach their highest potential.
Mrs. Holzer is a former choir teacher who fell in love with the AVID program and is now the JCMS AVID Site Coordinator. She teaches 7th and 8th grade AVID as well as 6th grade AVID 101. She lives in Junction City with her husband Rhyan and their four kids. Mrs. Holzer loves fishing, hunting, camping and of course AVID!
