this damage is do to the larva digging into the tree and killing it
birth place and method of transportation
the birth place is in Asia and came over through wood packing materials like crates and pallets
where they have been last seen
through out all of america and especially through the north east and south east
damage
the adult Asian Long Horned Beetle buries its eggs into trees and the larva digs farther into the tree and kills the veins in the tree that provide the top of the tree with nutrients
Punishment
to prevent the spread of the Asian Long Horned Beetle is not to move firewood and to inspect trees for the damage and cut it down
