Adding Fractions
1. First you line your fractions up
2. Then if they don't have a common denominator you would find one like this 4 4
3: 3,(6),9,12 — —
6: (6),12,18. 3 6
(YOU WANT TO FIND THE LCM THE LEAST COMMON MULTIPLE)
3. Then change the denominator to the LCM, then add----> 4--->4--->8
----------------------------------------------------------------------------> — + — = —
------------------------------------------------------------------------------>6--->6--->6
Subtracting Fractions
2. Then if you don't Have a LCM Least Common Multiple you just find one like finding a GCM.
(but you get the first smallest pair instead of the last greatest pair)
3. Then subtract
Multiplying fractions
1.First you line your fractions up
2.Then you would "Multiply Across" on the bottom and top
3.then after you got your answer you would simplify until you cant any more.
Dividing Fractions
2.Then if you fraction has a whole number you multiple the denominator by the whole number then add it to the numerator
3.Then change then Division sign to a Multiplication sign
4.Then flip the second fraction like this 2 3.....2 5
..................................................................--x--.>.--x--
................................................................. 4 5.....4 3
