TUMUAKI KŌRERO

Kia ora e te whānau,

It has been fantastic to have two full weeks of school after a disruptive start to the school year and lots of sunshine. Thank you to those families who attended our family picnic/classroom meetings, swimming sports and our curriculum information session. Your support at these events is invaluable, and we look forward to providing more opportunities throughout the year.

School Camp: This week, Kōwhai and Mānuka have been on school camp at Chosen Valley; it has been a wonderful experience for our learners, and it has been pleasing to see them challenging themselves and giving things a go. I want to acknowledge those parents who attended camp this week. Without your support, we could not run our EOTC programme. Thanks to Courtney Sheehan for organising this year's school camp and the teachers who ensure this experience is incredible for our learners!

Please check our school app, website and Facebook for updated information and important dates.

SCHOOL NEWS AND INFORMATION

TNIS Swimming Sports 2023

It was a fantastic day at Takapuna Grammar School, and the learners were amazing risk-takers who showcased what it means to follow the TNIS Way! With every learner getting points for swimming (and one teacher!), it was a tight competition for the most active class. The year 8's from the Rātā team took out the team relay, but Tōtara won the Chant competition in both the morning and afternoon sessions and took home the Team Award for the 2023 TNIS Swimming Sports! Congratulations to all the winners from each event!

Curriculum Information Evening

Seeing so many parents and whanau at school last Thursday evening was wonderful. It is always great to have parents interested in our curriculum and how teachers plan and assess student learning. The following link has a copy of the presentation.

TNIS Camp!

Camp is well underway! So far, two teams have completed their time at Camp Chosen Valley, and it has been a blast! The weather has been amazing, and everyone has been showing their risk-taking by taking a plunge down the slide and having a go at all the activities!

A huge thank you goes out to the parents and guardians giving up their time to help make these camps successful! We could not do this without you! Three teams are still waiting for their turn, and the big advice is BUG REPELLANT, SUNCREAM, HATS & WATER!

The Resilience Project

At TNIS, we utilise The Resilience Programme (TRP) within our school. Each week learners will do 1-2 lessons in their classroom. Each week we will explain different aspects of TRP. That way, you are able to talk to your child about this programme and their learning.
