Craftsman Style Homes

Olivia Scheible

The craftsman style home originates from southern California. It gained popularity at the same time as prairie style, which shares many characteristics with craftsman. This style of house was inspired by bungalows.

This style of home often has a low pitched roof, with several gables. There are often triangular columns, the designs are very simplistic. Made with simple forms, and natural materials. Each house is different, some have stucco on the exterior and some have vinyl siding.
