Principal's Report - Phillip Reavis
Year in Review
I want to extend a sincere thanks to faculty/staff members, parents, students, community members, and other district employees who have contributed so much to make the 2017-2018 school year a tremendous success! Oakview Elementary School continues to set itself apart as a leader in the district, state and nation as we work together for the children we serve. This year, parent and community volunteers logged tens of thousands of hours supporting the students at Oakview Elementary. The faculty and staff organized another successful Culture Fest, staged Shrek in December, created a Kindness Rock Garden on campus, and so much more! The school and its students and teachers received awards and grants from local, district, state and national organizations recognizing our efforts in academic/artistic achievement, volunteering, and teacher professional service! Again, these success stories could only happen through the joint efforts of everyone at the school! Thank you ALL! #OnlyAtOakivew

Teacher Assignments for 2018-2019
Letters requesting a certain teacher for next year are not accepted. We ask that parents allow the school staff to make professional judgments with respect to student placements. Letters containing the following information will immediately be discarded: 1) naming a teacher, 2) requesting an experienced teacher or a new teacher, and 3) requesting that certain students be in the same/different classes (with the exception of twins, triplets, etc.). Thank you for supporting the process of teacher assignments as we work with the many students here at Oakview Elementary School.
Summer Office Hours/Registration
We will keep summer office hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. We are closed on Fridays. If you or someone you know needs to register a student for next year, please come by ASAP!! Information regarding registration can be found on our web site.

Summer Gardening Help
Summer Gardening Help Needed!! Our butterfly and vegetable gardens need some special families to volunteer to maintain them this summer. It's very simple to help...volunteer for a one week period, and then stop by twice that week to pull some weeds. We have a watering system, so that's taken care of. All the supplies you'll need (gloves and shovels) will be in a box ready to go so you and your family can come at your convenience. If you can help, please click the link below and sign up! Thank you so much for volunteering! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4fa4ad22a2fb6-summer
