"California Fun" at Berkeley-Volume I, Issue 2

Parents and Guardians: here's what been happening at SIG: the academic, residential, and student activities life of a SIG camper. The past few days were filled with a variety of activities; it's hard to believe that we leave SIG in less than a week!

The "New" Senior Status at SIG

This is my fifth year participating at a SIG program, and this is one of my favorite years here! The people are nice, the food is diverse, and best of all, we have senior privileges. Senior privileges allow us the chance to visit many places on the Berkeley campus, see new things, and enjoy time with our new friends. For example, we have had dinner nights with our friends on Telegraph and College St. We also get to walk to classes and attend meals on our own. I'm not going to mention the fact that we get a break from the juniors. To put it into simple terms, senior privilege is freedom.

"Writing Really Does Matter"

Written By Natalie Leung

My favorite class in SIG is Writing Matters. The teacher, Ari, is very informative and always manages to make the class fun. He gives us creative writing tasks to do, such as interviewing a famous person or challenging vocabulary games. Through exciting and enjoyable activities, we learn how to write with passion and self-initiative. It is by far one of the most impressive and entertaining classes I have ever had.

"My SIG Experience"

Written by Vienne Lau

This is my second year at SIG. I really enjoyed the camp in general as it is filled with an international vibe- I am fascinated and inspired by talented campers from all diverse countries and backgrounds. The courses are very interesting as well. I especially enjoyed ‘The Brain and Dreaming’, such as learning different dream theories and interpreting dreams. Through this course, I have learned a lot and my horizons are broadened.
