Message from the Principal

Queridas Familias de la Escuela Barbieri,

We had a GREAT first week back! Seeing all of our Barbieri family members from a safe distance and being able to talk in person and not from a camera was the best feeling! I hope everyone's experience back into their classrooms and office spaces was a positive one. Please continue to reach out to us in the main office with requests, comments, concerns or to simply check in! The next week will be a busy one for us all as we wrap up loose ends to plan for a full phases 3 and 4 return for after February vacation (no date has been set*). We will continue to share details as we receive them.

THANK YOU so much for your continued support at home, we could not do this without our families!!!

Que disfruten su noche,

Maria

PS- Let it snow and football!!!

CHANGING FROM REMOTE to IN-PERSON LEARNING

Big picture
At this point in the school year all families have decided on their children remaining remote or returning to in-person learning. If at any point you wish to change your mind you can by simply emailing me (mdavis1@framingham.k12.ma.us). Once I receive an email with your intention of changing the instruction mode for your child/children, then we must adhere to the check in points designated by DESE and FPS. The next check-in point is March 19th. During these check-ins we assess for space, transportation, food service, etc. prior to students returning to school. IF it is determined that your child is able to return we inform you. Please remember that for now you will be placed on a waitlist as the next check-in point is not until March 19th for an April 5th return.

COVID-19 Testing at Barbieri School UPDATE!!!

The district will now be offering testing to all staff AND students returning in phases I and II starting Monday. Due to this change we will now have testing at Barbieri School on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8th from 1:00PM-3:30PM.

DO NOT COME TO BARBIERI SCHOOL FOR TESTING IF

  • You are sick: headache, stuffy nose, fever, body aches, chills, cough (any symptoms listed*)
  • You were around someone who has tested positive for COVID-19
  • You have traveled and are in need of a test (*this includes the New England area)
  • You have tested positive, have been instructed to quarantine and are at the end of your quarantine and want to test again.

*For any of the above reasons please call your health care provider immediately*

Counselor's Corner

Framingham Family Resource Center has some fantastic resources for family support groups during the month of February that might be beneficial for your family. Some groups are:

Father’s Support Group

Virtual Parent Support Groups

Grandparent Caregiver Support Group February 19th

Parenting Journey

Real Talk (Young Men Ages 14-18)

Women Thriving

Please click each link for a flyer with more information. Especially in times that we’ve had to do so much out of the norm, support groups are a great way to be heard and learn from others. I hope you and your family can benefit from them.
