From the Principal
Hopefully this message finds you well and in good spirits. We wrapped up the 2nd Nine Weeks this past week, and we appreciate scholars and families for ensuring that current and missing assignments were submitted. We also appreciate our teachers for diligently grading current assignments for traditional instruction and online flex learning scholars in addition to grading missing assignments that were submitted late. This year continues to stretch us all; however, we are stretching together.
What was the highlight of this past week for most scholars (and even some faculty members)? The ice cream, of course. Thanks to our Cafeteria Crew for their consistent, superb service and for adding ice cream to the menu on Fridays. Moving forth, ice cream is available for purchase on Fridays, and scholars can bring cash (items are $.75-1.00), or parents can add money to their child's account for snack purchases. Remember that lunch is still free for all scholars until further notice. We also ended the week by celebrating those with birthdays, scholars who received positive behavior referrals, and scholars who won board games. We are appreciative of the donation of school supplies from First Baptist Church of Cedar Hill; their congregation collected items to help restock as we start the 2nd semester.
This week, we kickoff the 3rd Nine Weeks and begin our district required MAP middle of year (MOY) assessment window. We are also excited about National School Counseling Week, and we are thankful for our School Counselor, Mrs. Johnson. Feel free to send her a "thank you" via email. As you prepare to view your child's report card that will be released on Friday, February 5, take a moment to review these helpful tips provided by our Instructional Facilitator, Mrs. Berry:

Parents would then receive access to the Schoology group where the link to the Google Meet to join the enrichment sessions would be housed.
