Lenape Spot Light

June 8, 2015

Students in Madame Gluck's French One classes had a special celebration on June 1st. It was the "Annual Celebrating Our OWN Cultures Feast." The students have been learning about Francophone cultures all over the world. This was a chance to celebrate what they, and their own cultures, bring to the table, both figuratively and literally.

A few of the nationalities represented on our table were: Russian, Irish, Slovakian, Japanese, French, German, Polish, and Italian.

Each student explained his/her background, as well as his/her contribution to the feast. For many of the students, it was the first time that they had been the one to make the special dish based on a relative's/ancestor's recipe or heritage.
