What is AIDS ?
- A disease in which there is a severe loss of the body's cellular immunity, greatly lowering the resistance to infection and malignancy.
HIV is the virus that causes AIDS, whereas AIDS is the disease caused by the HIV virus.
The signs and symptoms of some of these infections may include:
- Soaking night sweats.
- Shaking chills or high fever for several weeks.
- Shortness of breath.
- Chronic diarrhea.
- Persistent white spots or unusual lesions on your tongue or in your mouth.
How are AIDS treated ?
There are no drugs that can cure HIV infection or AIDS, although when used in combination they can delay the appearance of symptoms, perhaps indefinitely.
