Halo Highlight - Get Your Golf Clubs Ready!

Dear Saints Families,

The St. Louis Catholic Foundation, the Trust Fund for the Future, was established in 1983 for the sole purpose of giving financial assistance to St. Louis Catholic High School. Our St. Louis Catholic Foundation has an endowment approaching $4 million, and each year the Foundation gives a percentage to the school based on the earnings of the endowment. The Board of Directors consists of current parents, alumni, alumni parents and future Saint parents. Our current chairman is Eric Stevens.

This year our Foundation Board has graciously partnered with the school to present the Russell J. Stutes Memorial All Saints Golf Tournament on Friday, March 6, at the Lake Charles Country Club. There are many opportunities for you to get involved, such as volunteering at the event, hole sponsorships, or putting together a team!

Athletics Roundup

Saints Among Us - Jason Oertling

Not only did Soccer Coach Jason Oertling '89 lead the No. 4-seed Lady Saints to a 6-0 shutout against Lusher Charter on Tuesday, but he went above and beyond showing the team an exercise in sportsmanship, receiving this postgame compliment from the opponent!

"...Much respect to the coaching staff for calling off the dogs and allowing us to play against essentially their second team in the second half, which was great because it gave me a chance to play every girl who made the long trip including my seniors in their final game. And the[y] fed my girls for the ride home! Keeping it classy, that is how you do it. Thanks St. Louis, Coach Jason and his staff. Good luck next round!"

Our quarterfinal round game will be Monday against Haynes Academy (time & place TBA).

Good Luck in Shreveport, Boys Soccer & Wrestling!

The boys' soccer team will try to make a deep playoff run as the No. 12 seed, hitting the road tonight to face No. 5 Loyola Prep at Messmer Stadium at 5 p.m. Meanwhile, Saints wrestling will take aim at another state championship not far away in Bossier City this weekend. Click here to watch footage of Thursday's school sendoff pep rally. Go Saints!

Facilities Updates

We are excited to report that HVAC controls (thermostats) have been upgraded in most of our buildings, new security systems & cameras are being installed around the exterior of the school, as well as lighting repaired or replaced!

Our Advisory Council will discuss, and hopefully approve, the proposal to accept the Campus Master Plan quote and begin that process.
