Counselor's Corner

November 29th - December 3rd

Classroom Counseling

This week 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade had their Classroom Lessons! During 3rd and 4th grade's lesson, we read The Good Egg and discussed positive self talk, as well as things that are in our control versus things that are out of our control.

During 5th grade's lesson we read The Couch Potato and discussed what type of "potato" each of us are, as well as things we enjoy doing that do not involve a screen!
See pictures below for some of the great work that was done during these lessons.

When we return to school November 29th, we will start another week of Lunch Bunch!

Our character word is Perseverance

Students will learn that having perseverance means sticking with things and persisting, even if things are difficult or aren't achieved right away.

Crossroads Youth & Family Small Groups

These small groups began November 2nd and they are going great! Students meet for their small group session on either Tuesdays or Thursdays during their lunch time.

One of these groups focuses on coping with stress/anxiety and the other focuses on building a positive self-concept.

If you would be interested in your student participating in either of these small groups with a Crossroads Y&F Facilitator in the spring, please contact me at

Bethesda Presentation

Bethesda will be presenting their Stop, Go, Tell lesson the week of November 29th. Your student should have brought home a reverse permission form in their Thursday folder--please only complete and return if you DO NOT wish for your student to be present during this lesson.

Please contact me if you have any questions!
