FALL WORKDAY
I am pleased to be able to report that through August the overall financial position of the Church remains healthy. While August church giving came in approximately $2,000 under plan for the month, the year to date figure is still at 108% of the plan to date. Thanks, for your continued support.
TLA income remains very strong due to the continuing high student enrollment. While we usually see some drop off during the summer months, this year was less than anticipated resulting in income being higher than planned. August income (including registration fees and yearly supply fees) was $13,000 over plan. On a year to date basis, TLA income is now at 113% of the planned income to date.
The staff and boards continue to monitor spending and overall are under control. We are seeing higher levels than planned in a few areas due to the strong TLA enrollment as well as some inflation in specific areas (ie. food and supplies).
The bottom line for August was a positive $4,000 leaving us a positive $13,000 year to date. If we can achieve a similar result for September, we would have the needed funds accumulated for the three pay period month coming in October. As we work our way through a second year of COVID turmoil, it would be outstanding to go into the holiday season not in a deficit position.
Thank you all for your continued support and as always, please let me know if you have any questions.

FAMILY PROMISE SUPPORT SUNDAY
Family Promise f/n/a Interfaith Hospitality Network of Athens is a non-profit organization that provides shelter, food and emergency services to families with children facing the crisis of homelessness. The Family Promise program has continued to serve the Athens community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Trinity Lutheran is a supporting congregation for this program. Jo-Ann Thorne is hosting a Family Promise Support Sunday on October 10th. She will be collecting these items for Family Promise from now until October 10th. See the list below on items that are needed most. Please bring in these items and put them in the Gathering Room. On October 10th there will be a collection basket in the Gathering Room if you would like to donate money to Family Promise. If you have any questions, please contact Jo-Ann Thorne 706-202-2740. You can also visit their website at the link below to find out more about this organization.

Deaconess Carol and Pastor Andy will be attending the LWML FL/GA Retreat in Melbourne, FL this year the last weekend in September. We will have a box in the back of the church until September 20th to collect denim for the servant event. If you want to donate to “Gifts from the Heart” please give a check to Deaconess Carol or drop it by the church office on or before September 20.
SERVANT EVENT: please bring denim clothing and fabric, which we will sort and pack for New Life Mission in Melbourne. The mission transforms it from used up and worn out clothing into new useable and interesting items!
GIFTS FROM THE HEART: Monetary donations to the Florida-Georgia District Disaster Response Flood Relief.
If you don’t have any used denim you want to get rid of, another idea may be to go to Goodwill and buy a couple of pieces from them.
