Taking a VIRTUAL VOYAGE with you!

July 30, 2020

Welcome Back Tiny Titan Families!

What a spring and summer! Through flexibility, uncertainty, creativity and tenacity: TOGETHER, we made it happen! A huge THANK YOU for the challenge you endured, and my apologies for the angst the spring and summer held for your families as it related to learning.

It is my goal for the first semester to bring more clarity to those teaching..., and to those learning. We will grow and learn together as we take this virtual voyage into the first three weeks of the 2020 - 2021 school year!

Expected Campus Safety Measures For Face-to-Face Learning to Commence September 3rd:

  • Hand washing/sanitizing to be included in the daily schedule.
  • Masks worn at all times for 3-5th students and when transitioning from place to place for Kindergarten - 2nd.
  • Classes will rotate eating lunch within the classroom and cafeteria with guidelines for spacing.
  • Learning will occur with guidelines for spacing.
  • Specials classes will travel to classrooms. (Students will be asked to purchase and maintain personal art supplies that they will keep within the classroom, as to prevent the spread of germs. Ms. Carlton, our Art teacher, will inform you of her request.)
  • Student travel outside of the classrooms is limited with the exception of supervised restroom breaks, hand-washing breaks, brain breaks, and lunch times.
  • Students will enter and exit varying doors within the Pods and building, as to prevent contact with large groupings, etc.
  • Visitors to the building will follow District protocol to maintain safety measures.
  • Early arrival of students is discouraged, as no staff is available for supervision. Students will travel directly to classrooms without gathering by classes in the cafe and gym.
  • Parents may visit for lunches one time per week beginning the month of October and will be asked to be seated on the picnic tables outside, weather-permitting. (Another location inside the building will be available as well.)

Ideas for Tiny Titans before Face -to-Face Learning:

  • Have your Tiny Titan/s wear masks often to familiarize themselves with the new feature at school.
  • Teachers may opt for students to refrain from backpacks, as to limit the spread of potential germs from home to school, etc.
  • Have them wash/sanitize their hands on a routine basis throughout the day.
  • Have them practice virtual "High Fives" or "Hugs" to honor social distancing.
  • When considering lunch and/or school items, choose items that your Tiny Titan/s can open without support and that can be easily wiped for a sanitized surface.
