Student Library Advisory Team

Making our Library Amazing!

What is the Student Library Advisory Team?

The Student Library Advisory Team (SLAT) is a group of students in grades 6-8 who meet with Mrs. James and other teachers to help plan events for the library, like the 25 Book Challenge Reading Celebrations. SLAT also creates book reviews, makes cool publicity posters (digital and the paper kind), provides ideas for new books, materials, and programs. Basically, the group is making sure everyone knows how amazing our library is. And, they're trying to keep Mrs. James from going completely overboard!

How Do I Join the Student Library Advisory Team?

The Student Library Advisory Team meets on Club Days in the media center with Mrs. James and Ms. Curtis from 9:00-9:50. If you're not currently in SLAT for Club Days, talk to Mrs. James and Mrs. Joyner to make arrangements to join us!
