Greetings from the Principal
Dear Riverview Families,
As the 2015-16 school year begins to wind down, there is much to celebrate about this fantastic school year! Staff members new to the building have had a very positive impact on our students, and they have done a fanstastic job taking on the difficult task of adjusting to a new building, new students, and new teammates! We look forward to many more productive and enjoyable years with Mrs. Arbaugh, Mrs. Boxberger, Mrs. Dondzila, Mrs. Gracy, and Ms. Reeves here at Riverivew!
We have met our building-wide goals in the areas of technology integration and literacy skill development through targeted professional development and teacher innovation. Classrooms have seen an increase in the amount of technology integrated into the school day to enhance and personalize learning where appropriate. This has been very rewarding in K-1 and exploratory classes with targeted iPad use for classroom projects or individualized creativity as evidence of learning, and in grades 2-5 through much of the exploration with google applications in the classroom or implementing 'Bring Your Own Device' where appropriate. Teachers have also worked to increase the level of critical thinking, communication, and collaboration that students engage in on a daily basis within reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.
As Friday's schoolwide Variety Show demonstrated, our students have so many strengths and passions that they bring to school with them, and each Riverview staff member works to unlock and harness student abilities to help students achieve to their full potential. Next week we will have the Awards Assembly to continue to celebrate student success, as well as our final school day. While it is bittersweet to see the end of the year approaching, it is worth taking time to reflect on the immense progress that our students have achieved this year. I encourage you to do the same with your own child(ren) -- acknowledge their hard work and efforts to make the gains needed to be ready for the next step in their journey.
Make it a great week!
Beth

Water for South Sudan Update...
A huge thank you to all of you who supported Water for South Sudan by donating to help reach our goal of $6000. We would like to share some awesome news. We not only met our goal, but raised $6500 for Water for South Sudan! This would not have been possible without the support and donations from our Riverview community. On behalf of families who will now receive clean water, we sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
