The Common Cold
First line of defense
The skin is the first line of defense. along with saliva and mucus that traps pathogens (a bacterium, virus, or other microorganism that can cause disease.) and gets rid of it from my body.phagocytes help prevent harmful bacteria or cells from entering my body also. If the pathogen makes it through this line of defense is moves onto the second line of defense.
The second line of defense
When an invading pathogen invades into my body an immune response is triggered and my body recognizes specific cold antigens and makes special cold killing antibodies that fit like a puzzle piece and destroy the pathogen.
