Matt's Monday Memo
January 28, 2019
Good morning all.
Good morning,
I am grateful for the feedback that I have received in the last week. It is very helpful to know how folks are experiencing me and our shared work. Please know that I am always open to have conversation to address your concerns and questions and I appreciate both warm and cool feedback.
Responses were sometimes in conflict with each other but some asks were pretty clear: better communication and attention density. I will look to have more clarity and frequency in communication, preferably in person. I am working to uncover the best way to connect to the larger group when that is needed, short of an overabundance of emails. Additionally, this year has had multiple external aspects pulling my attention in areas, and I hope to be more intentional going forward.
I plan to share the results with both our Administrative team and our PAC committee prior to our next meeting.
Have a great day.
Best,
Matt

Celebrations
Special thanks to the following staff members who planned and implemented a fantastic four days of 8th grade visits: Jill Peel, Shannon Daniel, Zach Smith, Leigh McKittrick, Karen Verstraete, Joe Hepfinger, Alex King, Simone Cunningham, Ken Winingham, and Jennedy Lombard. Students were smiling when they left and (almost) ready for high school! Many other staff members took time out of their day to present elective options to our guests. Our student Crew and PACER members were tremendous ambassadors to the building as well. Thanks to all for making this possible and successful.
Cici Faucher reported, "I have been invited to attend the Microsoft AP WE service seminar in Washington on March 3-5. It is all expenses paid and I will be working with master teachers to expand our service learning globally." Congratulations, Cici!
We had the winter homecoming dance this weekend. Thanks to the all of the staff who supervised the event—I appreciate the admin team and student sponsors for making this a fun evening.
The winners of the Homecoming court are listed below:
Sophomores: Chris Hollandsworth and Maddie Buske
Juniors: Henry Bante and Becca Mandernach
Seniors: Ethan Patrick and Mikayla Morgan
