Not Mastered lessons

When an assignment is completed, it must be completed with an 80% or higher on any test or quiz, otherwise it is considered 'not mastered' or 'unmastered.' While the lesson will move off your daily plan, or overdue list, it will not count toward your expected progress and will lower grade. Watch this video to see how to find your unmastered lessons so that you can complete them for a better score.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Be on the look out for an email scheduling your conferences the week of March 1st. This will be sent to the student and the learn coach emails.

Class Connect Participation

It has been proven that student participation during class is directly linked to their achievement level. There have been dozens and dozens of studies that have been done on this topic. As teachers, we see this proven in our classrooms time and time again.

Since coming back from Winter Break, student participation has decreased significantly. Class connect times are designed to foster student engagement. Please encourage your student to participate, turn their cameras on, talk on the microphone or answer questions in the chat box. The more they participate, the more they will grow.

Seesaw, Mindplay, and Exact Path

If you do not have your student's login information for Seesaw, Mindplay or Exact Path, please contact your homeroom teacher for that information.

You will be seeing Seesaw used a lot more often starting this quarter. Your student will have exit tickets, writing practice and other things in Seesaw. They should look under the "Activities" button to find those assignments.

The expectation is that every 4th grader spends 60 minutes a week working in Exact Path either on their specific Learning Path or on an assignment assigned by the teacher. The work that students do in Exact Path will be used in the gradebook.

The expectation for Mindplay is just like other courses within the OLS. Each 4th grader is assigned lessons with specific due dates in the OLS. They will be need to be completed just like all other course work. You will notice Mindplay showing up on the Bison On Track Calendar.

If you have questions, please reach out to your 4th graders teacher.

Locating details that support the main idea

Please have your 4th grader read for at least 20 minutes everyday.

Your 4th grader is going to be working on decimals and the relationship between decimals and fractions.

Continue Multiplication Practice

It is vital for our fourth graders to know how to multiply. Division, fractions, perimeter, area, etc. are all built off of multiplication. There are many strategies out there to support your fourth grader in mastering this skill. 4th graders are expected to know multiplication facts between 0-12. This means they know from 0 x 0=0 all the way to 12x12=144.

Spend 20 minutes each school day working on multiplication facts this school year.
