Staff Spotlight

Ms. Sarah Moon teaches middle school math for VLA. She has her Bachelor's in Secondary Education from Pikeville College and her Master's in Counseling from Morehead State University. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and has her certification to teach Dual Credit Math.

"I love interacting with kids through Canvas and other digital platforms. I'm happy to be able to meet my students' needs for support in mathematics growth in this way. I've found that students are learning more than just math. They are taking responsibility for their own learning by being attentive to due dates and they are sharpening their communication skills by freely messaging me as their teacher. I'm proud to be part of this innovative approach to meeting the needs of our time while supporting educational growth in my students."

Parent Survey

At the end of last school year, we gathered feedback from our VLA families and used a lot of that feedback to plan for the next school year. As we wrap up year two of VLA, we are ready to gather more feedback on how the year went, what would improve the experience for students, and how we can support our families at VLA. Please take a few minutes to complete this 5 question survey and provide us with information on what went well this year and how we might improve for next school year.
