Big image

It's now easier to visit Cuba!

On January 16, 2015 President Obama liberalized People to People educational travel, which now allows Americans to travel to Cuba without all of the paperwork previously needed. This makes travel to Cuba infinitely easier. People to People travel is not tourist oriented or self directed but it is both rewarding and unique. It allows participants to visit a wide scope of organizations, institutions, and community projects that provide a deeper understanding of Cuba, its people and its culture. This PVAC trip includes a full time schedule of educational exchange activities designed to promote meaningful interactions between Americans and the people of Cuba.

Nina Menocal Gallery

The nina menocal gallery has been fundamental in the consolidation of Cuban and Mexican contemporary art and a pioneer for Mexico in the major international art fairs. It is committed from its beginning with emerging Cuban, Mexican, and international artists.

Contemporary art in Cuba and Mexico owes much to the tireless work and prestige of the nina menocal gallery. Founded in 1990 (under the name of Ninart) in a small apartment located in the “Zona Rosa,” at the heart of Mexico City, the Gallery was the first space in the world dedicated to exhibit contemporary Cuban artists born with and educated by the Revolution. Then it was one of the first spaces in Mexico to exhibit and promote Mexican and Latin American conceptual emerging artists and it was a pioneer in participating in international art fairs. Thus, Nina Menocal has been an instrumental force in building the foundations of and in fostering a growing interest in contemporary art in Mexico.

Cuba Educational Travel

Cuba Educational Travel Run by Collin Laverty, a leading expert on Cuba and U.S.-Cuba relations, Cuba Educational Travel organizes educational exchange programs and people-to-people travel for U.S. citizens and residents to Cuba. We believe our two countries have much to learn from each other and meaningful exchanges that foster dialogue can be highly beneficial to strengthening the artistic, environmental, medical, scientific, and social science communities in the U.S. and Cuba. Most importantly, increased travel and people-to-people contact will strengthen ties between ordinary Americans and Cubans.

Cuba Educational Travel's mission is to connect the people of the United States and Cuba. This is done through coordinating travel between both countries – in both directions – to facilitate two-way learning; as well as producing studies and publications about issues of mutual concern and organizing events in the United States that deal with issues related to Cuba and U.S.-Cuba relations.
