IMPORTANT STUDENT ITEM PICK UP & DROP OFF PROCEDURES
Dear Robinwood Families,
As we approach the end of the 2019-20 school year, we are looking to provide a time to allow families to pick up and drop off student items. All FPS schools have a personal item pick up/drop off plan for families to gather the items left behind in classrooms and hallway areas. These plans follow the COVID-19 guidelines established by the CDC to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and families.
Please click here for the link with all the information.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR ROBINWOOD STAFF
ATTENTION 5TH GRADE PARENTS/GUARDIANS
Wisconsin Student Immunization Law requires that all students entering the 6th grade receive a dose of Tdap vaccine. To be compliant with state law, Franklin Public Schools must be provided with proof of an immunization or a waiver must be signed.
If your child has not already received the Tdap vaccine, work with your pediatrician or primary care provider to schedule the vaccine. Many local pediatricians and family care providers will be restarting (if they haven’t already) well child appointments and will be completing necessary immunizations. Record the date of the immunization in the appropriate box on the student immunization record link below and sign the form. The state of Wisconsin allows for waivers for immunization due to health, religious, or personal conviction reasons. To do so, follow the instructions on the student immunization record and sign the form. All signed forms can be emailed, faxed or dropped off at school (when our school buildings reopen).
If you have any questions, please contact Lori O’Neil, District Nurse at lori.oneil@franklin.k12.wi.us
Please click here for the immunization fact sheet.

HAPPY HOME
The ES3 team would like to share a new feature with you called Happy Home. Each week we will pass along some tips to help keep your home as happy and healthy as possible during Safer at Home. ES3 is a three-year state-funded grant program with the mission of improving outcomes for students who require social and emotional support. We can ALL use social and emotional supports, especially now, so we hope you enjoy!
Fidgets… More Than Meets the Eye!
At first sight fidgets are often seen as toys but fidgets can be terrific tools! When used properly, they can help a child with self-regulation and can be used in all settings. They help support an individual’s need for movement and tactile input that is often crucial for many children. Fidgets can help with focus, attention, active/whole body listening and calming. When using fidgets it’s important to consider setting clear expectations with your child that make sense for your family. Below are a some examples:
Fidget tools must be used appropriately.
Fidget tools should be used as tools and not toys.
Fidget tools should be used in a manner that does not distract others.
When not being used, fidgets must be put in their designated area.
Fidget tools should not interfere with your ability to learn or complete tasks.
There are many different types of fidgets, such as glitter bottles, kinetic sand, items with a variety of tactile surfaces, stress bands and stress balls. These items can be purchased, but many of them can be made or found at home too! Please take a look at some of the fidget tool ideas we have provided to see what may be helpful for your family! Fidget tools can be great for people of all ages, adults included!

ROAR TV
ROAR TV is back. ROAR TV is how we provide our daily announcements at Robinwood. The students on the ROAR TV crew work with our art teacher, Jacqui Valens, to provide important information to our Robinwood school community. One of the ROAR TV members, Brennon, reached out to Mrs. Valens to ask if they could continue to create episodes to “raise the roaring spirit...and let the kids know we are all in this together.” Of course we said yes. We are very proud of our students taking initiative to build community together, even though their team, and all of us, are apart. Mrs. Valens is also asking for videos from families if you would like to contribute. Please keep the videos under 19 seconds long and send them to this email: RWRoarTV@Franklin.k12.wi.us

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION (Updated 5/12/20)
Current Total: $690.20!! Let’s keep working towards our $1000 goal!! Every Box Tops is worth $0.10 for Robinwood and adds up!
These are unprecedented times. We may be staying safer at home, but we are still shopping for much needed groceries, cleaning supplies and now, school supplies. We are starting to better understand what a teacher does in a day... all while balancing our work life, home life, errands and staying connected (while socially distancing). It’s a lot. But please, take a moment to scan your receipt using your Box Tops for Education app. It’s such an easy way to earn money for your school (and your teachers) when they welcome the kids back in the fall (fingers crossed). Plus, earn Double Box Tops for Teacher Appreciation Week on purchases made between 5/3 and 5/10 (remember to submit your receipts within two weeks). Thank you teachers!!
Not only are grocery items eligible for Box Tops (such as Annie’s, General Mills, Old El Paso, Pillsbury and Nature Valley), but so are cleaning supplies (such as Lysol) and school supplies (such as Boise and Papermate). For a complete list of eligible items, please visit www.BTFE.com
Scanning is easy!!
• download the Box Tops for Education app at the App Store
• Sign up for Free
• Enter Robinwood Elementary School
• Start scanning! (Scan receipt within 14 days of purchase)
• For more information, please visit www.BTFE.com
If you shop for groceries online, you can submit your email receipts from select retailers to earn Box Tops for Robinwood. For more information, please visit https://www.boxtops4education.com/emailgroceryreceipts.
Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only, but we will gladly accept physical Box Tops until they are phased out. Box Tops can be sent to school (after school reopens) and placed in the bin near the main office in an envelope or plastic baggie. Make sure each clipped Box Tops has a clearly visible product acronym and expiration date.
***The next submission date is in October (before the 11/1/20 Box Tops expiration date), so don’t feel rushed to get them in before this school year ends. September is perfect!
Thank you for your participation during these uncertain times and stay safe & healthy!
